How ReadyTech is helping SGSCC to prepare for the future
St George & Sutherland Community College (SGSCC) is one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit community colleges. It provides a highly diverse range of quality vocational, accredited and leisure courses, as well as disability services, that support the lifelong learning and development needs of the communities it serves.
Through WorkSkills, SGSCC’s Registered Training Organisation, it delivers accredited vocational courses for 800 students -both domestic and international - in areas that include training and assessment, first aid, community services, childhood education and care, school-based education support, individual support, and more.
The challenge
Prior to 2024, SGSCC’s WorkSkills division was growing fast. With some larger vocational student intakes as well as shifting reporting obligations (like those under NSW’s Smart and Skilled program), SGSCC realised that to scale and grow their service into the future, they would need a technology partner with student and learning management solutions who could remove some of the pain points they were faced with, and provide a solid foundation for future expansion. Specifically, SGSCC needed systems to remove existing duplication of processes (including manual data entry), digitise paper-based processes (such as student assessments), enable online delivery of education and training programs, and keep their college ahead of the game when it came to the changing compliance requirements.
The solution
SGSCC chose to partner with ReadyTech to utilise our integrated student and learning management solutions (VETtrak and Ready LMS, powered by aNewSpring). SGSCC expected ReadyTech’s systems would enable their team to streamline and digitise administration in many areas. SGSCC also believed Ready LMS would remove the gap in online learning delivery capabilities that SGSCC had identified during the pandemic, and that ReadyTech’s deep sector and government engagement could keep their college ahead of the game when it came to compliance. The team at SGSCC also felt that ReadyTech, as an ASX-listed company, was more in line with where they wanted to be as an organisation – particularly because of ReadyTech’s ability to bring best practice ideas and technology to the table, providing more scale and certainty into the future of education
The result
SGSCC has used ReadyTech’s market-leading systems to streamline administration as well as student and learning management. Their new approach to managing online enrolments have removed whole pieces of administration, international agent commission payments are now simpler and more efficient, and reporting obligations are easily met. SGSCC’s trainers now use Ready LMS to mark digital assessments in class, and students are thrilled to have access to the Ready LMS mobile app which provides the flexibility to study anywhere at any time. Ultimately, ReadyTech supports SGSCC’s reputation as a modern, professional provider of vocational education.
