City of Stonnington’s Transformation with ReadyTech

Customer Overview

The City of Stonnington, in Melbourne's southeast, is a rapidly growing municipality. It takes in the suburbs of Armadale, Glen Iris, Kooyong, Malvern, Malvern East, Prahran, South Yarra, Toorak and Windsor. Council aims to create a future-focused environment that delivers essential services and infrastructure for its diverse community of over 120,000 residents.

By 2036, its population is projected to grow to approximately 150,000 residents, presenting significant challenges and opportunities for development.

The Challenge

Managing such diverse and extensive infrastructure poses significant challenges. The city faces complexities in asset lifecycle management, varying maintenance requirements, and financial constraints due to rate capping. Previously, reliance on spreadsheets led to inefficiencies and lacked integration across databases.

The Solution

To address these challenges, the City of Stonnington implemented ReadyTech's Asset Management module, a key component of the Ready Community ERP suite. This integrated asset management system centralises asset registers, manages work orders, and automates financial calculations. By replacing manual processes with a streamlined, automated solution, it has significantly enhanced data management and overall operational efficiency.

“The ReadyTech Asset Management module has changed our approach to asset management, making our processes more managable and data handling more transparent,” said Tze-Sian Hor, Roads & Systems Coordinator, Environment & Infrastructure at City of Stonnington.

“The integration with our existing systems and the user interface has made it possible for our teams to utilise the module’s capabilities,” Sian added.

The Outcome

The Ready Community Asset Management solution aligned with Stonnington's goal of delivering comprehensive asset management across the council. The council has improved coordination among departments, improved the management of asset data, and facilitated better decision-making through real-time information.

As a result, Stonnington has achieved greater transparency and control over its assets, leading to informed strategic planning and resource allocation.

“Having a system like ReadyTech that integrates with our existing infrastructure and supports our digital transformation goals has been great,” Sian said.

“The robust support from ReadyTech's development team and their responsiveness to our specific needs have been crucial to the success of our partnership.

"We're hopeful that with ReadyTech's support, we will be positioned to meet future challenges and deliver seamless services to our residents.”

Looking ahead, Stonnington aims to continue enhancing its asset management capabilities over the next five to ten years.

“Our commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging new technologies will help us further enhance operational efficiency and better serve our residents,” Sian added.
